Scenario 1: On battery power, closing the lid puts the laptop to hibernate mode
Scenario 2: On AC power, closing the lid puts the laptop to sleeps mode
Scenario 3 : On AC power, closing the lid and disconnecting the charger, the laptop is still in sleep mode, not switching to hibernate
Kindly help as this issue is affecting my battery health.

KDE has a power manager that can inhibit the systemd ACPI settings, meaning you can use that exclusively for your power management configuration:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Power_ … r_managers
As a prerequisite, it seems you need to install powerdevil, however:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/KDE#Power_management
Also, according to the tip about integrating with KDE power profiles, you may want to install the power-profiles-daemon too.
Also also, if you want to be able to hibernate, you need to configure swap, at least to the size of your RAM, and configure the initramfs:

I think that should do it.
