Wireless networking question

I was setting up a couple of the computers in my house today with wireless, and I realized in the process that all the machines connected were only getting half speed. When wired, my connection is stable at 5Mbps, but under wireless, less than half that speed. I tried turning off encryption to see if that was the bottleneck to no avail. The router, D-Link DI-524, is a 802.11g/24GHz unit. One card I just installed is a Netgear WG311 (54Mbps) on a Windows box. Another box, a Windows laptop, I'm not sure what the card is, but it's also 802.11g. The fastest card is for my Linux box, a WG311T, that I haven't configured yet. I've read some forum posts of others having this exact same problem.

Any ideas?
