I'm trying to transfer a 25GB file to my USB drive, but I'm not seeing any progress bar indicating how long it will take. Unlike Windows, which used to show the estimated time remaining for a transfer, I'm not getting any feedback. Is there a program that can display this information during file transfers? or how do you guys go about it

And *how*? Please don't paraphrase, https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=57855

Plenty and pretty much every GUI filemanager does that, too.
nb. that the indication will be skewed by the cache, https://web.archive.org/web/20240401221 … rty_ratio/

Edited title.
Ok my problem is. It shows copying done to usb. But under the hood it is still transferring. Don't know why it does this.

That's because of the forementioned file cache, the question frequently comes up.
