Hi All,
Trying to swap to nvidia-open via pacman.
Changed the hook before hand to point to new package but there is a breakage issue with lib32-nvidia-utils. My question is.... is there an 'open' version of the lib32-nvidia-utils that I should be installing at the same time as the nvidia-open package?
Sorry for the dim question but I cannot find anything online.

There is no open source version of nvidia's userspace libraries/tools.

so.... what should I do?

Please elaborate on what you mean by "Changed the hook before hand to point to new package", and post the full error you're getting regarding the "breakage issue".

I did...
Installing nvidia-open gives me a dependency break with lib32-nvidia-utils and all of this is me trying to get away from the damn 550 Kernal Panic problem. I think the issue I am having now is that it has been a while since I have done a system wide update via pacman and my packages are way out of sync.. but doing a -Syu will likely cause me a kernal panic!
So im kinda stuck I guess lol.
Talking of nvidia - they just posted 560 feedback thread of their forums - so should I just wait it out?

You still didn't tell us what the problem is. "a breakage issue with lib32-nvidia-utils." and "a dependency break with lib32-nvidia-utils" tells us nothing, post exact errors, exact symptoms, etc.
