IP address from web lookup not same as shown in network manager???

How can my IP address be different as shown on an internet lookup, or speed test, from what network manager shows?
I'm not having any problems, my network is functioning perfectly, but I didn't think a difference in IP was even possible.
I don't use, or even have any VPN service, and I'm on a fiber network. I'm just a bit concerned by this.
Thanks in advance for any answers.

TL:DR It's nothing to be concerned about.

What network manager is showing you is a private IP. It's assigned to you ( usually ) by your router. The IP you're seeing on websites is a public IP, assigned to you by your ISP. Your public IP is how devices on your local network communicate with the rest of the internet. The private IP is what your router uses to make sure requests and response are sent to the right device on your network.

I'm going to guess that your computer's network address starts with 192.168.1...

Your router's address, on the other hand, is the address you are seeing reported by speed tests

Yes, that's correct.

I was a bit concerned that my router may have been hacked. After more research the crazy IP
addresses are due to my ISP using CGNAT on their network. When I was on Comcast Cable
internet, network manager showed the same public IP address as a speed test, or WHOIS lookup.

Since I switched to Shentel's Glo Fiber, things are a bit different. I went into the router software,
and got the WAN IP address, and did a search on it and got "Shared Address Space". From what
I've read this it consistent with the use of CGNAT. The IP address shown on a speed test, or a
WHOIS lookup is very similar to the Shentel DNS address. I like the fiber service, but I didn't
quite understand the weird IP addresses. I knew the router's local address would be just
for my system, but I didn't quite understand CGNAT would cause a weird IP address.

I guess the hackers haven't gotten me yet.

Thanks for all the replies.
