Hello. It seems that my second hd, hdb, isn't found..
when i try to mount it, it gives me the error:
# mount -t ext3 /dev/hdb1 storage/
mount: special device /dev/hdb1 does not exist

its seems hal is screwing with lots of hd...i have a similar problm

check fdisk -l output

heres my case...it doesnt mount...have been waiting for a response of a developer but...nothing...where does the problm come from...i have compiled hal gnome-mount gnome-vfs..etc...nothing...

i don't understand what ur doing here.
is that the output of fdisk? if so it lists nothing of hd*
maybe u outta try
ls /dev/hd*
ls /dev/sd*
in my experience, if mount returns with an error about the device not being, it's never there.

hm. you have problem with partition table/FS. try:
fsck.ext3 /dev/hda1
but your second hdd partition table seems crushed. try to fix it.

it didn't change anything... i give the comand on a live cd,becouse it gives me that if i run this comand with hd mounted, it can be damage.

my problm lays on an external hd...sdc...pmount refuses to mount it...
