Re: hdb isn't found

Disk /dev/sdc: 1040 MB, 1040711680 bytes
33 heads, 61 sectors/track, 1009 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 2013 * 512 = 1030656 bytes

   Device Boot      Start         End      Blocks   Id  System

heres my case...it doesnt mount...have been waiting for a response of a developer but...nothing...where does the problm come from...i have compiled hal gnome-mount gnome-vfs..etc...nothing...

Re: hdb isn't found

i don't understand what ur doing here.
is that the output of fdisk? if so it lists nothing of hd*

maybe u outta try
ls /dev/hd*
ls /dev/sd*

in my experience, if mount returns with an error about the device not being, it's never there.

Re: hdb isn't found

ops.. sorry.... i notice that i wrong command big_smile sorry...
btw, the output is

# fdisk -l

Disk /dev/hda: 80.0 GB, 80026361856 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 9729 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes

   Device Boot      Start         End      Blocks   Id  System
/dev/hda1               1        2432    19535008+   7  HPFS/NTFS
/dev/hda2   *        2433        4864    19535040   83  Linux
/dev/hda3            4865        4986      979965   82  Linux swap / Solaris
/dev/hda4            4987        9729    38098147+  83  Linux

Disk /dev/hdb: 81.9 GB, 81964302336 bytes
16 heads, 63 sectors/track, 158816 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 1008 * 512 = 516096 bytes

Disk /dev/hdb doesn't contain a valid partition table

but it is strange... now my root is /dev/hda1, and it can't be a ntfs partition! Should be ext3 ...

Re: hdb isn't found

hm. you have problem with partition table/FS. try:
fsck.ext3 /dev/hda1

but your second hdd partition table seems crushed. try to fix it.
