Quick question!

I'm looking to share a directory between Linux and Windows, my music directory. In theory it's me sharing it so that my Dad can explore it and drag and drop at his pleasure, I'd like to be able to do it for him, but I'm NOT going to do it Windows style, so I'm wondering if anyone has a howto that they know of or some tips, I'm actively working on it so I will check this post pretty often for some tips, hopefully it's not too obvious of a question.
