DVD Drive not works.

So, i wanted to connect dvd-r disk to old nvida gt 610m intel pentium laptop,
it did not work. How do i fix this? (File manager Thunar, and i tried console methods that did not work)

'did not work' is not helpful information. Please detail what you have tried, and post full outputs.

Is anything detected by the system when you connect the drive? Check the journal.

Try in a terminal

lsusb

See if device shows up assuming its connected via usb

You could look in /dev/ as well possibly .

If you want to go gui route install thunar-volman
