Cannot set up 6ghz Access Point

Hi i've wasted quite a lot of hours. It's my first time setting up ap. I need 6ghz. preferably wifi 6e.

I'm trying to use my asrock steel legend X870 WIFI for that (wifi7) It seems no matter what i do it doesn't allow me to select 6ghz channels.

unfortunately whenever i try to launch it i'm running into this error.

wlp10s0: IEEE 802.11 Hardware does not support configured mode (2) (hw_mode in hostapd.conf)

Anyone managed to set up 6ghz ap ? it seems like i'm missing something here but can't figure out what.
