After updating kdeconnect to 25.08.0-2, I'm running into a strange issue. I have 2 computers running kdeconnect with firewalld, they cannot see each other until I disable firewalld on both machines. No issues with connecting to my phone with firewalld active though.
The zone configuration is pretty standard, just the defaults with the kdeconnect service added:
home (active)
target: default
ingress-priority: 0
egress-priority: 0
icmp-block-inversion: no
interfaces: wlp0s20f3
sources:
services: dhcpv6-client kdeconnect mdns
ports:
protocols:
forward: yes
masquerade: no
forward-ports:
source-ports:
icmp-blocks:
rich rules:
public (default, active)
target: default
ingress-priority: 0
egress-priority: 0
icmp-block-inversion: no
interfaces:
sources:
services: dhcpv6-client

protocols:
forward: yes
masquerade: no

Verified that the correct zone is active on both machines. Clearly this is a firewall configuration issue - I'm hoping that someone knows what I have to unblock to make this work. Thanks

There's a bug report on this issue over at KDE's bugtracker here. I'm not sure if this is a sound change from a network security perspective, but opening ports 40000-50000/udp for kdeconnect through firewall-config seems to have worked for me.

Same issue here, even on a fresh install. Both my computers can see another one without a firewall, and can see my phones, but not each other
