Hi, I installed Arch on my Lenovo laptop (UEFI, NVMe SSD, Btrfs root with subvolumes).
Both systemd-boot and GRUB give me a pure black screen right after firmware tries to boot them.
No boot menu, no text, nothing at all.
- Arch ISO boots fine (systemd-boot shows menu there).
- But installed Arch with either bootloader = black screen.
- EFI partition has the expected files, efibootmgr entry exists.
- Tried reinstalling bootloaders, rebuilding initramfs, different kernels, nothing changes.
What could cause this?
Any tips on debugging this are appreciated.

Which ThinkPad model are we talking about? I have the exact setup myself with a relatively new ThinkPad but don't have any problem on my end. You need to be more specific about it. Though ThinkPads are usually known to work well in Linux so chances are the problem is probably not about your laptop being a ThinkPad at all.
Are you sure you don't skip or make any mistake on the installation process?

it's ThinkPad p50, xeon 6th gen cpu, nvidia m2000m gpu
No, I didn't make any mistakes, I used archinstall with basic config.
And yeah, it's not my ThinkPad's fault, I've been using EndeavourOS for almost a year without any issues. then after an upgrade that included Linux 6.16.8-arch2-1 and some firmware updates I faced this issue. I tried to to fix it but ended up by deleting some critical files.
I installed latest available Arch iso, then I faced the same issue
I fixed this by formatting the esp part and copying the esp that comes with iso.
so it works now somehow.
