ProtonVPN wont start after recent updates

System journal says systemd: started ProtonVPN but nothing opens.

What updates? Post your pacman.log.

Also what do you think is 'supposed to open' when you start the systemd service?

Also what do you think is 'supposed to open' when you start the systemd service?

I updated those packages yesterday. Today when I restarted my computer the proton-vpn-gtk-app (ProtonVPN) did not autostart on login/boot. When I manually opened the app nothing loaded. And that message in the journal was all that was logged.

I wanted to know if i was the only one the app broke after updates, or let the packagers know that these updates broke the app. This happened in December too IIRC. There was another package that the packagers then realized hadnt been updated and once it was the app worked again. Maybe that happened again.

It is not working for me either. I expect to get the ProtonVPN GUI.

I don't use the GUI (and I roll my own CLI package to avoid the pointless gtk3 deps), but as that package doesn't ship a systemd service, the journal message is probably from the daemon. Try running `/usr/bin/protonvpn-app` from a terminal and see if there is any output.
