I am connected to internet through cable and yesterday i shifted over to a new scheme and got new settings which are as follows
Physical Address: 00-0B-2B-00-94-B6
IP Address: 125.99.213.200
Subnet Mask: 255.255.240.0
Default Gateway: 125.99.208.1
DNS Servers: 202.88.152.5
The previous settings were:
Physical Address: 00-0B-2B-00-94-B6
IP Address: 202.88.153.226
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 202.88.153.1
DNS Servers: 202.88.152.5
I made the corresponding changes in rc.conf and i am able to ping both gateway and dns address but i am not able to connect to internet. If ping any site i get the unknown host error. btw, i got my broadcast address from http://pigtail.net/LRP/broadcast.html. My isp is not very helpful and they don't even know what is wrong so the board is my only resort.

Can you ping external IP addresses e.g. 64.233.183.99 (Google). If so, your DNS needs reconfiguring - check /etc/resolv.conf. However, if you can't ping anything apart from the given gateway and DNS server, it's an ISP issue IMO. You'll just have to keep hounding them
