Hi there!
In my laptop i have got an ipw3945, managed by networkmanager. The strange thing is, that under WXP I can connect to an AP in my sourrounding. Under Linux sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt. If it works, then the connection gets dropped quite often or is very slow.
Is this related to a driver issue, or is it networkmanagers fault?
Any help is appreciated

I've got exactly the same problem!
It's a networkmanager issue because if I can see a network in it but can't connect to it. I can connect to it by adding the essid in rc.conf (not using networkmanager).
I heard networkmanager 0.6.4 works better then 0.6.5, but have yet to try it out.
As is true for most people I know, I've always loved learning. As is also true for most people I know, I always hated school. Why is that?

Have you try it without Networkmanager?
Have you tried to turn it off and on again?

The strange thing is, that my laptop stands in the same place, WXP finds a wlan, iwlist scan or iwconfig do not find any
so i guess its also related to the driver

Please post:
lsmod
ps -aux | grep ipw3945
ifconfig -a
iwconfig
pacman -Qi ipw3945
Have you tried to turn it off and on again?

I've seen the same thing with an atheros based card using madwifi-ng drivers. I knew that there was an AP there but iwlist couldn't see it and I couldn't force iwconfig to connect to it. I rebooted into windows and connected to it without a problem.
