iwlist scanning has stopped working

When trying to scan for APs with iwlist I've recently started getting the following message:

# iwlist scanning
lo Interface doesn't support scanning.

eth0 Interface doesn't support scanning.

wifi0 Interface doesn't support scanning.

print_scanning_info: Allocation failed

It used to work ok, whats broken?

I'm using the madwifi-ng drivers with up-to-date packages on 2.6.20 kernel.

Re: iwlist scanning has stopped working

Well, on my computer, when I load ath_pci kernel module, two interfaces are created - wifi0 and ath0. I'm not completely sure why is wifi0 there, but ath0 is the one on which the usual stuff (ifconfig, dhcpcd) refers to. There is a utility called wlanconfig (in madwifi-ng package) with which you can create/destroy ath0-type interfaces. Maybe try to look into that?
