Localhost problems

I have problems with my localhost network and because of this Postgresql server can't start. After boot ifconfig shows that loopback is up but it's not working. Ping to lo is working...I added lo 127.0.0.1 to my routes but it's not in route output after system boot. Can someone please help me, i don't know what to do anymore....:(

Re: Localhost problems

Are you sure it's a localhost-network problem and not some postgresql-configuration problem?
I've never used postgresql, so i suddenly feel kinda stupid replying here roll

Is there no log-file written somewhere?

Re: Localhost problems

I installed postgresql without changing network configuration. So, I agree with klixon that the problem could be in the postgre configuration.

Pay attention to /var/log/postgresql.log to check for errors.
