thanks rm -rf $HOME/.xbmc worked.

Zeqadious, thanks for the PKGBUILD. unzip is required, not sure if for depends or make depends.

Anyone else have weird graphic issues with the latest Alpha4 build in the repo? I have the same behavior on two separate machines here. Reverted to Alpha3 and all was well again. Could be something specific to my setups though so thought I woud ask.

Alpha4 doesn't work for me either; for the record.

+1 for graphics problems on the Alpha4. But the SVN version worked fine.

I also had graphics problems with Alpha4 and switched to SVN which works well except that my LIRC remote no longer functions. I'm using the same Lircmap.xml I used with Alpha3 but it seems XBMC is unable to load the file. Anyone else having this problem?
Here is the excerpt of the xbmc log file:

I had to add 'boost' 'enca' 'cmake' and 'gperf' to the makedeps in Zeqadious's svn PKGBUILD

I've tried installing both xbmc and xbmc-svn from your repository, zeqadious. I get this when starting xbmc:

Mine segfaults too but only on the local X display, not the X server (1.3.0) on my mac.. This is whatever revision was checked in yesterday, I'm building rev. 15654 to see if it helps.
Edit: The problem was due to not explicitly setting the amount of video memory in my X config file..

Hmm...is there repo for x86_64 xbmc versions? I could set up one if needed?
EDIT:
Well...I made repo for my personal usage anyways so feel free to try it out!
Packages are based on zeqadious PKGBUILDS with some adjustments.

Has anyone had any luck with the recent SVN? It just segfaults for me. :-/

Zeqadious: I'd hate to be a moaner, but any chance you'd have to time to update to beta 2? Also, if you have the desire to you could upload your PKGBUILD to the AUR and we could vote it up for inclusion in the community repository hopefully around the time 2.1 is released.

Recompiled it with debugging and ran it through gdb... it dies on strlen() in libc.. I have no idea why though. :-/

@ luciferin : I'll do another update on xbmc today. Its been awhile since I've upgraded them. As for AUR, I toyed with the idea, but for various reasons I keep neglecting to do it. I'll think about AUR again soon.

Works for me under 64-bit Arch (Radeon HD3200, but with mesa/libgl), but segfaults on my 32-bit Arch (another machine with Athlon64 1.8GHz and GeForce 7600 using nvidia drivers). Not sure what the problem is with the 32-bit machine, neither betas or any SVN builds have worked either.
EDIT: The reason why it didn't run on my 32-bit install was that xorg.conf had 16-bit as the default depth, changed it to 24-bit and now it's working just fine.
