IIRC, ACPI, not APIC is required for SMP.
@ Topic starter: try upgrading your BIOS.

i know the difference, but apic was designed for SMP systems, and i recall reading somewhere that it was needed for smp. i may well be wrong.

1. my laptop is brand new and there is only one BIOS update that i 2. could only install via Vista
i read that it is recommend to install it with a DOS boot disk. and i got no Floppy drive =/
Do you know how to install the BIOS or do you got some tutorials, etc.?
Would be nice. My Laptop is a MSI-1719 (GX700? not shure)

I just started my Laptop and after the OS selection (grub) i selected the normal ArchLinux and the screen just went black and nothing happened. After a few trys i started the same Arch with just editing the Kernel line on grub. i removed the "noapic" and it just worked. my 2nd CPU is also shown O.o

I would update my BIOS but i got no Floppy =/

You can update your bios with a cd as well.
(I did this and it works well, you'll need a FAT32 USB stick in order to create any backups)
Take a look at e.g. http://www.biosflash.com/e/bios-boot-cd.htm
