Ifplugd vs Network Deamon

If i have Ifplugd installed, do i need the network deamon?

No, ifplugd is all that's needed. If you have both daemons start up then the network will always be configured, rendering ifplugd moot.

I used both with my laptop; worked quite well, especially when plugging and unplugging ethernet cables often.

Isn't the purpose of ifplugd to only run networking scripts when the computer is actually connected to a network, or am I mistaken?
