Question about using wicd and WEP keys (auto hexadecimal convertion)

Hi all, my question is very simple

For example lets say u have the password to conenct to a WEP protected network, lets say the key that was giving to you is: "ude3005_trpt_"

Since is WEP, i have to transalate that prhase to hexadecimal

Then, entering the HEXADECIMAL equivalent to the password u were giving u can connect whitout any problems

Is there a way that WICD detect that the network as WEP protection and that u can enter the "udpe3005_trp_" and that wicd transform that prashe automactly into hexadecimal??

Sorry about my english

cheers

Re: Question about using wicd and WEP keys (auto hexadecimal convertion)

Hi,

I'm one of the developers of wicd.

Try putting quotes around your key, so it looks like

"ude3005_trpt_"

and input that into the WEP key box.  Hopefully we will have a better solution for the next release of wicd big_smile
