I've set up a mpd server for our retail store so we can play internet radio stations on our hi-fi. Sonata is really awesome and works great ... but as I see it, not in Windows. Most of the guys here use Windows, so we need a Windows client that can connect to MPD. Are there any good ones out there that we can use?

I'm not sure if there are any Windows clients, but you could set up a web client. Check out http://www.musicpd.org/clients.shtml I have used phpmp before, and it works well.

There's no reason sonata couldn't run on Windows, since it's just python + gtk, but I haven't had any interest in trying to get it to run. If you have the time and are interested in trying, I'd be happy to help with any problems you stumble across.
That said, gmpc can run on windows (http://sarine.nl/win32). If you're going the web client approach, I'd take a look at pitchfork.

A-ha! gmpc works beautifully! Got it on the Windows machines for the guys here and they like it a lot too. Thanks! ![]()
