Using 2 different distro's I noticed 2 different behaviours with pam and su.
Now I've had it confirmed the other distro does certainly use pam for su, now using strace on Arch I notice calls to pam as well.
So am I right in presuming that su from Acrh uses pam?
Now this was related to echo "password" | su
Now this behaviour doesn't work on Arch but on the other distro does.
They implied that the default function of pam is to use stdin for input, so my question is Archs su pam module not default then? Either way I think Arch is far better in this approach.
Just curious plus need info for bug reporting.
