DLink router problems... I'm going insane here

I've just got a D-Link DI-524 wireless router yesterday.

I connected my ethernet cable to the router's WAN port, then connected the router to the NIC via it's supplied cable. Anyway, i have a static IP address and i've configured the router correctly. I left everything else default, haven't messed with firewall rules and stuff like that.

The first problem i have was that i couldn't ping any webpages/IP's from the routers configuration interface other then my own ip and my gateway. This is because my ISP is probably using MAC filtering so internet only works when i have the ethernet cable connected straight to my NIC.

Anyway, the router has an option to clone it's WAN MAC address so i did that. I then was able to ping any webpage and IP there is from it's interface (and from the terminal) so i thought everything is finally gonna work fine. My NIC is set to DHCP as it should btw. I tried to give it a static DHCP from the router but it didn't change a damn thing.

WRONG. I can't load any websites whatsoever other then google.com (witch takes 3 minutes or so to load). The DNS's are working properly because the hostnames get resolved instantly in Firefox. It's just sitting at "Waiting for www.url.com....." and never loads any page.

This happens in both Arch and Vista by the way. I have no firewalls running or anything like that.

I'm guessing either the router is faulty (altough i can ping anything), either my ISP has some weird filters in place.

Anyone good at networking that could guess what my problem could be or what filters my ISP could have set witch is prevent webpages from loading even though they can be pinged?

I'm guessing it has something to do with the MAC cloning i did.

Have you perhaps set your routers MAC address to the same as the NIC in your computer?
You could have problems if both network devices have the same MAC.

I tried multiple NIC's with it. It always works when i set it to 10mbit but no go when i set it to 100mbit. I'm thinking there could be something wrong with either the ethernet cable with comes from my ISP's switch or the switch itself.

Are you running the latest firmware? To make my LAN wireless I bought a wireless router off eBay (£4.50!). It was very flaky until I flashed it and now it is rock solid.

Using a dynamic IP on your NIC, run ifconfig connected directly from your PC and then again via the router. Any difference in MTU? What is the router's MTU?

MTU is 1500. No difference. I hate this POS router so much sad I tried forcing the nick to 100mbps full duplex, still nothing. Can't get anything more then 10mbit out of it.

Ok. I've concluded that this router is the biggest piece of shit ever. Why the fuck do these idiots advertise it that it can do 100mbit when it obviously can't? I'm so pissed off.... 50EUR down the fucking drain. I'm going to the store and smashing it in their fucking heads.

Sorry for the language but i'm so pissed off i'm shaking.
