about the *locate switch

Apparently with the switch from slocate to mlocate one now needs to be in the group "locate".
Since pacman doesn't point one into that direction I thought I'd post it here, I'm assuming that question is gonna pop up multiple times now.

You don't actually need to be in the group 'locate' unless you want to manually update the db -- you can search fine without it.

Also.. the group was renamed, so if you were already in the old group, you should still be in it.

That's not exactly correct, you already need to be in the group to be able to locate a file (as a user).
I'm not 100% sure whether I was in the old group slocae or not (I don't remember putting myself into that group but I used to be able to use slocate to locate a file as my user) but after the upgrade I was not in the new group locate.

I'm not in the locate group and I can locate files as a user no problem.

I get this error message now after upgrade

locate: can not open `/var/lib/mlocate/mlocate.db': No such file or directory
