CompizFusion+RadeonX800XL: "No GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap" [RESOLVED]

I'm trying to get CompizFusion running on the above hardware, ie:

[n00b@shuttle ~]$ lspci | grep ATI

I have read and followed the following 3 ArchWiki entries:

ATI
AIGLX
CompizFusion

However, whenever I invoke fusion-icon I get the following error:

It's the No GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap with direct rendering context... nor with indirect rendering, this isn't going to work! that worries me.  As I said, I followed the Wiki, and my /var/log/Xorg.0.log doesn't show any obvious errors:

I'm not sure if this hasn't changed by now, but i think that the fglrx driver does not allow you to use compiz-fusion. You could try using the opensource radeon driver. I'm using my x850xt with it, and it works quite good.

Same problem.

I've read in different sites that compiz-fusion didn't works whit the catalyst drivers and the actual xorg (1.4 I think).

I took gothmog.todi's advice and went with the open source driver instead.
CompizFusion is now working and performance on the X800XL is very good!

Yeah, something's odd with fglrx's new GL_EXT_Texture_from_pixmap support when combined with xorg-server 1.4 - apparently it works fine with compiz-fusion using xorg-server 1.3, but it's not working with the new xorg-server. sad

Hopefully this will be one of the things they fix with the next version.
