I currently use a DWL-122 (prism2_usb) adapter for wlan and I am getting tired of the driver problems: ndiswrapper (any version) causes a kernel panic and wlan-ng26 does not support WPA (i tried, and it's not supported by the WPA supplicant either).
Can someone recommend me a good PCI wireless card? Preferably one with good drivers and below $60.
It would be for a desktop of course, but the only reason why I use wireless is because the dog likes to gnaw on cat5 cables.

I was in a similar situation and replaced my ndiswrapper-only-card with one from Intel. (less than 20€)

Right, maybe those Cards are only available as Mini-PCI or Mini-PCI-Express.

I got myself a MSI PC54G3 II card two weeks ago, for less than 20 EUR. Works fine.
I'd avoid Draft-N hardware (those with three antennas) and really make sure about the chipset. I think especially D-Link is infamous for shipping like four completely different hardware/chipset revisions under one and the same model name.

Ralink gear with the rt2x00-cvs driver. Check here for compatible hardware. These drivers will be merged into the mainline kernel in the next major release, and my experience with the USB version is very good.
