I've set up my laptop to use wifi with netcfg2... (Acer Aspire 7720) and it works great!!
I have my machine set up with network profiles, which I really like, but ... they run based on netcfg menu (at boot time) and therefore when I start my laptop with wifi support it fails.
How can I use netcfg2 configuration (located in /etc/network.d/my_profile) with network profiles, which seems hardwired to read from /etc/network-profiles/my_profile via netcfg 1.
I tried copying the profile created by netcfg2 over /etc/network-profiles but somehow it does not work, unless I execute it with netcfg2 (which then reads it from /etc/network.d).
Thanks.

Not sure I get why you need to use netcfg1... netcfg2 is a complete replacement for netcfg1.
netcfg1 cannot read netcfg2 profiles, they're different in format. And soon netcfg1 will be replaced by netcfg2.

iphitus,
I think you did not understand what I said ... or may be I did not express myself very well ...
I used netcfg2 to configure wifi. Then, I used the wiki to set up network profiles, but it seems it uses netcfg1 so when I start my system it fails to use the wifi profile I created with netcfg2.
My question is: how can I use netcfg2 to create network profiles so I can boot my machine with different profiles: home, business, university, etc. Or is it not possible at this stage with netcfg2 to have profiles?
Is my question a bit more clear now?
Thanks!!

in /etc/rc.conf
remove 'network' from the DAEMONS and replace it with 'net-profiles'
add 'NETWORKS=(menu)'
