A-Link's WL54H (C4) with Ralink RT2561T chipset as wifi base station?

Ok. I bought this card as a bonus, and thought that i could easily turn my desktop machine and it into wifi base station that shares my wire connection for laptops. I spend few hours reading around, and mainy got answer that did not satisfy me... Supposedly RT2561 chipset is not properly supported in linux. There seems to be some chance that drivers by Rt2x00 project could make this possible..

I decided to ask my fellow Archers if anyone has made base station with wlan card that has this particular chipset before trying it more out myself. Surfing around did not get me to any helpfull how-to's, just some other distro's forum where people seem to know even less about this subject than me.

So.. Does anyone has this card/chipset working as base station?

I have the CNet Ralink 2561T and have been trying to use it as a regular wifi card, but the connection drops a lot and some times it'll take a million tries just to get connected, am considering buying a new card.

You're better off buying a wireless router anyway. They can be pretty cheap...
