I'm having problems with wicd. First i could run it (version 1.4.1-3) but couldn't get the network working (wired nor wireless). Now with new version (1.4.1-4) i can't even run it. When trying to run tray.py or gui.py they say that the daemon isn't running and it is, because i start it on boot. I tried it manually and the results were the same. Does anyone have a clue what could this be??

I had similar problems with Wicd > 1.3.1-10, but now everytning is working.
Try the following (as root):
1) Stop wicd and network;
2) remowe wicd: pacman -R wicd
3) IMPORTANT! remove wicd folder: rm -R /usr/lib/wicd (don't forget to backup it - just in case);
4) install wicd again: pacman -S wicd;
5) start wicd daemon: /etc/rc.d/wicd start
6) start wicd gui as regular user an firstly go to Wicd Manager Preferences and check that you have here your WPA driver and intefaces;
7) Configure your interfaces.
Main idea behind this is to completely remove old wicd and only then install new one.

...And remember that the wicd daemon requires that dbus is running.

Thanks ziggy. I removed wicd folder as you suggested and now it worked. Wired network works and i will try wireless in few days and get back to you on that. Thank you once again.

I have new question now. Can i define certain connections in wicd which i would like to be auto connected?? Now i must click on the connect button every time i enter fluxbox. It's quite annoying.

For wireless networks, the FIRST option for each profile is "Automatically connect to this network". Or are you looking for something different?
