SOHO postfix

I made my own mail server (SOHO Postfix, http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/SOHO_Postfix ) but I just cant log in to check mail.

Almost everything works fine, just logging doesnt work. I tried to log in through mozilla thunderbird, but it fails. Same as with squirrelmail.

From mail.log:

Jan 18 09:13:05 hell imapd-ssl: Connection, ip=[::ffff:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]
Jan 18 09:13:08 hell imapd-ssl: LOGIN FAILED, method=PLAIN, ip=[::ffff:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]
Jan 18 09:13:13 hell imapd-ssl: LOGIN FAILED, user=ryne, ip=[::ffff:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]
Jan 18 09:13:20 hell imapd-ssl: LOGOUT, ip=[::ffff:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx], rcvd=96, sent=512

I even turned off my firewall, but still nothing.

Re: SOHO postfix

For sure its an imap authentification that doesn't work for any reason, verify your imapd settings and try to connect from an email client like Thunderbifrd to avoid webmail configuration problem for testing.

I checked whole config, and i found nothing... everything is like in wiki.

Thunderbird or squirrelmail? Both doesnt work for me. And both cant connect to imapd (same errors in logs).

EDIT:
When I changed type of imapd (ssl -> nonssl) squirrelmail connected to imapd. Now, i can log in, just need to create an user.
But I want to have an imapd-ssl not just imapd :?

EDIT2:

Now, it works fine, but without SSL (;

Re: SOHO postfix

You HAVE to use the full email address instead of just username.

Instead of ryne you have to use ryne@DOMAINNAME.TLD.

mail.log.4:Dec 22 23:16:27 monkey1 imapd-ssl: Connection, ip=[::ffff:216.9.248.135]
mail.log.4:Dec 22 23:16:27 monkey1 imapd-ssl: LOGIN, user=terii@linuxmonkey.net, ip=[::ffff:216.9.248.135], port=[53479], protocol=IMAP
mail.log.4:Dec 22 23:16:27 monkey1 imapd-ssl: LOGOUT, user=terii@linuxmonkey.net, ip=[::ffff:216.9.248.135], headers=0, body=0, rcvd=80, sent=764, time=0, starttls=1

Which IMAP server are you using? Courier-IMAP or Dovecot?

Re: SOHO postfix

Yes, I know that login is nick@domainname.tld.

I'm using Courier-IMAP.

When I had imapd-ssl squirrelmail dont wanna even connect to imapd (I tried also to change port (143->993) in squirrelmail's config), but when I changed it to normal imapd (not ssl) it works fine.

Not really sure then... smile

Double-check and see if there are typos.

-------------
If you are having problems with squirrelmail. Postfix is setup to deliver from localhost w/o auth so you can accept default squirrelmail SMTP setting fine.

It's not only problem with squirrelmail. Every mail client cannot connet through imapd-ssl (on port 993).
