i have a samba setup currently working, also, there is no X installed as i m using console only.
i have an anonymous share which everyone on my network can access, i have my security set at share level.
i want to create a share that only i can use, so i created the following share
[secure]
path = /home/secure
browseable = no
writeable = yes
guest ok = no
valid users = abcd
user = abcd
i have added user abcd in samba using smbpasswd and have set up a password, ut, whenever i access the share from my windows machine using \\samba\secure
windows asks for a username and password, i supply abcd and the password i assigned using smbpasswd.
but samba refuses to allow me access to it, can anyone help?
Also, how can i remove the printers share from samba completely?
Offline
either set up abcd user on windows box or use domain config (logins independent of accounts) with winbind
