I have a laptop with an Intel 3945ABG wireless card and I have been using the ipw3945d daemon which has been working great. However, on a package update somewhere, it stopped working. When I try to run /etc/rc.d/ipw3945d
[max@pwn ~]$ sudo /etc/rc.d/ipw3945d start
:: Starting IPW3945d [BUSY]
2008-02-13 14:54:01: ERROR: Could not find Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection
[DONE]
However ...
[max@pwn ~]$ lspci | grep ABG
03:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection (rev 02)
This is the first time I have seen Arch do this. What should I do?

Try blacklisting iwl3945 module in /etc/rc.conf to see if it helps...

I have it blacklisted.
update: I tried just using the iwl3945 kernel module and it works fine with a little bit of configuration to my network scripts. Actually, it works excellent. It seems a hell of a lot faster than the ipw3945d. Before, sites took a moment to load, but now the forums, as well as djforums.com (another forum I go to), YouTube, etc., come up in literally about a second!

iwl is the future, ipw will be deprecated soon-ish. So you got it right.
