tomcat: why is logging not activated by default???

hello arch-guys!

i have a big question: why is logging not activated by default in the tomcat init script??? (-outfile /opt/tomcat/logs/catalina.out \)
i is very important and essential!

I don't really know why... i've already asked it something like one year ago (http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=29446) and i'm still waiting for the answer
