Open To ftp

Dear all,

I would like to open my new arch statio to sftp, or any ftp server.

If I try to connect from another machine I retrive something like

ssh: connect to host xxx.xxx.x.x. port22: connection refused
Couldn't read packet: connection reset by peer

what can I do?

tnx

Re: Open To ftp

add the following to your /etc/hosts.allow file, if you dont already have it in there.

sshd: ALL

"Be conservative in what you send; be liberal in what you accept." -- Postel's Law
"tacos" -- Cactus' Law
"t̥͍͎̪̪͗a̴̻̩͈͚ͨc̠o̩̙͈ͫͅs͙͎̙͊ ͔͇̫̜t͎̳̀a̜̞̗ͩc̗͍͚o̲̯̿s̖̣̤̙͌ ̖̜̈ț̰̫͓ạ̪͖̳c̲͎͕̰̯̃̈o͉ͅs̪ͪ ̜̻̖̜͕" -- -̖͚̫̙̓-̺̠͇ͤ̃ ̜̪̜ͯZ͔̗̭̞ͪA̝͈̙͖̩L͉̠̺͓G̙̞̦͖O̳̗͍

Re: Open To ftp

Apologies if this is to simple, but are you sure ssh is running? You can start by

/etc/rc.d/sshd start

or add sshd to DAEMONS in rc.conf to start at boot.
