Tun/TAP Drivers

Hi all

I am trying to use VPN to access the university network databases (its legal, for access to scientific journals from home :-))
The software provided, openvpn, is not running and the university responsible for the VPN wrote me that I am missing the tun/tap kernel module... is this possible?
Can I modprobe it?

I believe you need either bridge-utils or uml_utilities and add tun to modules or probe it. I could be wrong however...been that way once or twice before.
