I have a sata drive, and I used the ide kernel. Don't think it's that. Maybe the problem is that the drive is detected as /dev/hde
And where were all the sportsmen who always pulled you though?
They're all resting down in Cornwall
writing up their memoirs for a paper-back edition
of the Boy Scout Manual.

You may need to patch the kernel. Try the arch-scsi option though.
I have a patched kernel for SII 3512. I had to install to an ide drive, patch and recompile the kernel, then transfer to my SATA drive (/dev/hde)
-thegnu

does arch-scsi only come on the full cd?
cause I tried it on the base iso and it can't find arch-scsi kernel image :?
edit: nevermind I'll just load vmlinuz_scsi
