no wlan0 ???
i have a dell vostro 1400, for default the wireless not work, so have to download the fimware(wiki) and then can configure the interface, but i dont know if am using ndiswrapper or one kernel driver, but that not the problem o question, i have no wlan0, is not big deal, but always read about wlan0 and my system doesnt have.

I think that's just an example so people don't get confused with ethernet, etc. My wireless is eth1. What do you get when you do
iwconfig
?

eth0 : no wireless extension
eth1: wireless extension
I think that's just an example so people don't get confused with ethernet, etc.
