Hi, I have a laptop Dell vostro 1000... and my wireless works with ndiswrapper, it worked since the moment I installed arch linux... but after the 1° upgrade, it stopped working...
I found out why but I can't solve it!
Here's why... when I had the kernel 2.6.22-ARCH and ndiswrapper 1.47... with ndiswrapper -l I got:
bcmwl5 : driver installed
device (14E4:4312) present (alternate driver: bcm43xx)
But now with kernel 2.6.24-ARCH and ndiswrapper 1.52, I get:
bcmwl5 : driver installed
device (14E4:4312) present (alternate driver: ssb)
Now the case is... I have also an ethernet connection which uses the b44 module... and this module requires the ssb module.
Summing up: If I want my wireless card to work with ndiswrapper the module ssb can't be loaded so I need to blacklist it on /etc/rc.conf, but if I do so... the module b44 can't be loaded and I lose my ethernet connection.
Does anyone knows where can I find the config file to change the alternative driver back to bcm43xx??? Or does anyone knows how can I force my device to use the ndiswrapper driver even if the alternative driver (in this case ssb) is loaded?

If I remember correctly I had blacklist the ssb module. Although b44 worked for me. This was over 4 months ago so I might had to do something else. Check out the wiki (Dell Vostro 1000) page on setting up b43 for wireless (you might need kernel 2.6.25 from testing)
