help with VPN internet connection

I am having problems setting up a VPN connection to my internet provider. the information i have is, my IP, Subnet mask, the IP to connect to, username and password. i read the wiki about vpnc & i tried to configure it, but it always ask me about group name and group password which i don't know. i called the ISP and i was told that i don't need this information to successfully connect to the internet. is there another way to configure VPN, am i doing something wrong?

any help would be appreciated.

Try to add:

IPSec ID someid
IPSec secret somesecret

to your config to make vpnc happy and (hopefully) working.
