Bandwidth shaping suggestions?

On Windows I was happy with Cfosspeed. It provides low ping, prioritized traffic etc. However I can't find anything close to it for Linux. Is there any good software and guide for traffic shaping you can suggest me?

Here's an easy script for ADSL traffic shaping - I just tried it, works well.
