I have looked at router and I cannot see how that port is open, is there a way of shutting it from Arch? or checking what is running on it?

I think those ports are open on your router to accept connections from your local PC to the web-based configuration.
Say your router IP is 192.168.0.1, then you should be able to access both
http://192.168.0.1:80
and
http://192.168.0.1:8080
for configuration. As for how to close 8080, if your router doesn't provide a way, then you're out of luck

Yes what cerebral said! Also run firewall on your linux box and your set.

And if your really paranoid do all these:

@Cerebral I guess I freaked out when I saw 8080 yes its router login ... which would be local [unless you set it otherwise!]
Was reading an article on Keeping Network Secure, I use wifi for my laptop then I read all these scare stories of people hacking WEP
Right thats it I'm off to hise in an ssh tunnel
Thanks guys
