[SOLVED] TOR / Vidalia failure.

I'm unable to use the most recent version of TOR present in the repositories. Its entry in rc.d functions and says that TOR successfully starts.

But I noticed I wasn't actually able to use it. I ran Vidalia to get some extra output and it shows no errors. However, though TOR is running without errors, Vidalia never shows TOR's status as "Tor is running." It is forever stuck as "starting up." It remains here even after telling me that it has enough directory information to create circuits and that it is functioning properly as a client.

Clearing all cache, deleting all configuration files and completely reinstalling doesn't solve a thing.

What do you all say?

Well, everyone, it turns out that a reboot is all it took to fix the problem. Suddenly it works perfectly now with no changes since my first post.
