How do I block the pcspkr module??? In the rc.conf the blacklist thing is now obsolete, and I don't see pcspkr in the list below so I can ! it.
It's sooo annoying lolz. Beep. You hit backspace when you can't. Beep. The login screen is ready. Beep. I'm shutting down. I HATE IT!!
So how to you turn it off now that blacklist is obsolete?

Just add
!pcspkrto the modules array in rc.conf.
Oh thx lol I didn't realize you had to add it....I thought it had to be in there already, and then just add the !.

I have the same problem I that solution doesn't seem to help:
sky2 slhc snd-mixer-oss snd-pcm-oss snd-hwdep snd-page-alloc snd-pcm snd-timer snd snd-hda-intel soundcore alsa !pcspkr
What's wrong? ![]()

There are some other ideas here that might help.

People, with the new changes implemented a few days ago in order to blacklist a module like pcspkr you gotta do the following:
edit /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf
and add the line : blacklist <module>
in this case it'll be "blacklist pcspkr" (without the quotes)
Try that and let me know.
Greetings.
