Easy way to let people upload files to a server

I'm looking for a solution to allow remote windows users to upload files to a specific directory on my linux machine. They should at least need to provide a password to gain access and if possible I'd like the content to be send over an encrypted connection (maybe through an ssh tunnel if that's possible). The windows front-end should be easy enough for the moderate windows user (point 'n' click, no difficult questions). Is there anything maintainable that can do this kind of thing? I know about WinSCP and I'll try to use that if I don't find a better solution but the front-end is pretty advanced-looking for non-technical literate people.
By the way, I have a lighttpd webserver running, does that allow for such a system (secure enough)?

Ewww . . . windows webdav is horrible . . .

Try HFS (http file server): http://www.rejetto.com/hfs/

Or Knowledge Tree: http://www.knowledgetree.com/

I have never used HFS. But Knowledge Tree is excellent and includes webdav, document revisions, and user auth.

Note: HFS is for windows . . . but it's (rms)FREE
