Hi all,
the topic says it all - I want to modprobe ndiswrapper manually when I need it and have it not loaded the rest of time. As of now, I find udev loads it on boot and I can't seem to find a way to get rid of this short of blacklisting ndiswrapper (which would prevent me from loading manually, right?).
Thanks for any hints.
Andreas
PS. What's the /etc/modprobe.d/ndiswrapper file for and what do the lines in there mean?
I have:
# install pci:v000017FEd00002220sv*sd*bc*sc*i* /sbin/modprobe ndiswrapper
# install pci:v000017FEd00002220sv00000305sd00001468bc*sc*i* /sbin/modprobe ndiswrapper
alias wlan0 ndiswrapper

No blacklisting does not stop you modprobing it manually.

duh. Thank you. I just should have tried it. ...but I'm very rarely at the wlan place (which is why I want to set it up in the way described above in the first place). I suppose then modprobing in my wlan network profile's PRE_UP should work as well.
Thanks a lot,
Andreas
