OpenLdap

Hey everyone-

SO I followed the wiki: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/HOW … entication but have no clue what to name or where to put my ldif file.  As much as everyone will shun me I'm coming from the world of Active Directory (was that a curse?)  trying some things and playing with things.  but could use a little direction... can anyone give me a hand?  Thanks!

Matt

Re: OpenLdap

You don't actually put it anywhere, you basically "source" it to get LDAP to load it. I can get the exact command for you if you like.

I come from AD as well, but I was into linux before I started administrating AD. I'm looking into recreating the flexibility of the Windows Domain system with linux, actually.

I am too actually, I'm following the article about Arch SBS.  If you could give me the command or send me a pm I'd really like to hear your opinions on some of this.  Thanks!!!!

There's also a decent overview/tutorial for building a openldap addressbook here :
http://www.onlamp.com/pub/a/onlamp/2003 … ap_ab.html
It's a little basic, but does include some good stuff including the command to add entries from a ldif file ( ldapadd ).
