dotfiles and the like

Hi geeks,
You probably already know of dotfiles.org.
It is nice, but I am looking for a place online where I can backup all my junk, like:
1. dot files
2. bookmarks
3. scripts
4. code
5. themes

etc...

Do you know of such place?

I was thinking about something more accessible.., even by others.
Storing stuff on gmail is kind of a hack, also (but I dont want any one to get paranoid) gmail admins some times remove stuff from mailboxes (happened to me and two other persons I know).

Re: dotfiles and the like

Maybe box.net, 1 Gb of storage for the free version. And you can use conduit http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=9776 to easily send your files smile

There shouldn't be any reason to learn more editor types than emacs or vi -- mg (1)

After opening accounts in storegate and box.net and messing with them a bit.. I decided to to go with google pages.. coz I dont have gigs of stuff its mostly small files.. and I can share it easy..
I will post my page here as soon as its done cool

Correct.  Very annoying to maintain any structure to a website...

Re: dotfiles and the like

A lot of people backup their dotfiles to a hg/git/svn repo. I personally think that's a really good idea (i have no VCS's setup or i'd do it)...What i do is weekly, i tar up my dotfiles and stick them ALL (all old and new) on my server and external HDD and i keep the latest version on a USB thumbdrive.

Re: dotfiles and the like

Am I the only person that rsync's to a server / external HDD?

rsync -av --delete --exclude=.Trash* --exclude=.smb --exclude=.local/share/Trash --exclude=.mozilla/firefox/*/Cache ~/ rsync://fileserver/BackupData/fukawi2/DesktopPC/'
