Thank you. I took the logo and text into Gimp, and added some curves, highlights, bevels, and shadows. Then did some mods to it again, and added the reflection.

On another note, if ppl think they may want to see more, I am always doing new artwork, (I am the art-team director for Linux Mint), so I always have new stuff, and I take requests tongue, (because I am a geek, and have nothing better to do with myself)

Re: My first wallpaper for Arch

Does that mean, you could do an arch-flavored, good-looking icon-theme for e.g. KDE4? Just a question (probably because I do not really like the Oxygen-Icon-Set because of it's tangoish look and the crystal-project-icon-theme does not work on KDE4 anymore for some reason (it works, but the icons are partly in wrong places)), probably with no deeper meaning... wink

I thought it had a Mint-ish feel... Moved from Mint to Arch 6 months ago. The Artwork is one of the things I miss from Mint, but no going back! big_smile

I could make an icon theme, for whatever, but it would take me a long time, i mean like months, I would have to get things just right. But if you really want one, I an start working on them. As for themes in KDE4, because it uses a new file structure, (eg. where they put the icon files) It may be tough to figure out how to write the icon theme file.

I came to arch a few weeks ago, and i really like it, so I am going to start do some art for Arch, so you will hopefully have some nice looking art for your desktop, cool

Re: My first wallpaper for Arch

Yeah, I would like one, I have time to wait and if you tell me how, I could even help ya!
Now it's just the question, how it should look like... I would prefer a realistic-looking-theme like crystal-project or the OSX-Icons for example. Do not like this tangoish-look, reminds me of my Win9x-time.

Re: My first wallpaper for Arch

Very nice. I prefer something a bit more subtle myself, but I can't deny it's excellent work.

Ah! Maybe that explains it. smile  I love some of the Mint artwork. The Elyssa splash/GDM theme and wallpaper ("Carbon"?) are just beautiful. And I actually have Daryna installed here - for the rare occasions when I want to try something outside Arch - with this wallpaper on the desktop (or rather the 1280x1024 version, but that's the only one I could find a link to).
