Strange home folder size reporting in thunar
I have a 30gb home partition, here's part from df -h:
/dev/sdb3 28G 8.4G 18G 32% /homeBut when I right-click in thunar on my /home/user folder and hit Properties, the size reports as 17.3gb?? Kinda confused :S TIA for any help

Hmm that is actually a good tip, thank you fukawl2, but does not answer my specific question unfortunately (unless I am misunderstanding it). du and df work well, but thunar is what's giving me the off size total

Have a look at the answer... In your case, it's df and Thunar giving different totals. Could be the same cause...
